IontoGo™ 12.0: Wireless, Extended-Wear Delivery System

The IontoGo™ 12.0 is a disposable, single-use, non-invasive system for iontophoretic drug delivery. View ACTICApatch Family of products

This wireless system is made for patient comfort, with a built-in battery that allows for ongoing drug delivery for a long time without needing any outside wires or controls. Patients can conveniently return to their daily activities while receiving therapy.

Key Features and Advantages

  • Extended Dosage: Delivers a prescribed dose of 80 mA-min over an average wear time of approximately 12 hours.

  • Auto Shut-Down: Features patented SHUNT™ power shut-down technology for precise dosage control, automatically turning off the current once treatment is complete.

  • Ready-to-Use: No saline is required for activation.

  • Comfort: The patch is flexible, low-profile, and features hypoallergenic adhesive. It is not made with natural rubber latex.

Understanding SHUNT™ Technology

The patented SHUNT™ power shut-down technology is a key feature of the IontoGo™ line. It's an internal safety and accuracy mechanism that ensures the patch stops working precisely when the full prescribed dosage (80 mA-min for this model) has been delivered.

In simple terms, SHUNT™ acts like an automatic electrical switch that opens the circuit when the drug delivery goal is reached, guaranteeing reliable treatment and minimizing the risk of over-treatment or skin irritation.

IontoGo™ 12.0 vs. Other IontoPatch™ Products

The market includes several self-contained iontophoresis patches, often categorized by their treatment duration (wear time).

Feature IontoGo™ 12.0 (ActivaPatch®) IontoPatch™ 80 (Tapemark) IontoPatch™ STAT (Tapemark)
Wear Time approximately 12 hours approximately 14 hours approximately 4 hours
Nominal Dosage 80 mA-min 80 mA-min 80 mA-min
Saline Required? No Yes Yes
Auto Shut-Off Patented SHUNT™ Technology Achieved via electrode coating depletion Achieved via electrode coating depletion

The primary difference for the IontoGo™ 12.0 is the elimination of the saline requirement and the inclusion of the SHUNT™ technology for dose termination, which contrasts with the original IontoPatch™ products that often rely on electrode coating consumption and require saline for activation.
