Pelvic Floor Electrical Stimulation vs. Kegels
by Service, Training and SupportAugust 9, 2026
If you search for an electrical Kegel exerciser, it is easy to assume that electrical stimulation is simply a powered version of a Kegel exercise.
That is not quite how it works.
Kegel exercises rely on you voluntarily contracting and relaxing your pelvic floor muscles. Pelvic floor electrical stimulation uses controlled electrical pulses to produce or assist a muscle contraction. The two approaches can therefore address a similar muscle group while serving different purposes.
That distinction matters because the most useful question is usually not “Are EMS or Kegels better?”
