Everyway KF5050 2" × 2" Electrotherapy Electrodes

The Everyway KF5050 electrodes are reusable, self-adhering pads that measure 50 × 50 mm and are compatible with TENS, EMS/NMES, and interferential stimulation devices. Their versatile square shape strikes a practical balance between targeted placement and useful surface coverage, making KF5050 pads suitable for home electrotherapy programs, physical therapy clinics, chiropractic practices, rehabilitation departments, and athletic training rooms.

Each white fabric electrode incorporates Sekisui Japanese conductive gel and a pigtail-style connection designed for standard 2 mm electrode pins. The gel provides the contact layer between the stimulation pad and the skin, while the flexible backing helps the electrode follow ordinary body contours during treatment.

Choose from:

  • 4 packages of 4: 16 total electrodes
  • 50 packages of 4: 200 total electrodes

The smaller option is convenient for individual users and treatment kits. The bulk configuration helps clinics standardize a common electrode size while maintaining individually packaged sets for separate patients.

Why choose a 2" × 2" electrode?

A 2" × 2" electrode is one of the most versatile sizes for portable electrotherapy. It provides more contact area than a small targeted pad without taking up as much space as a large rectangle or oversized back electrode.

Balego’s TENS electrode selection guide identifies the 2" square format as a strong general-purpose choice for common home and clinic setups involving compatible TENS, NMES, and FES devices.

Electrode shapeRelative coveragePractical application
Small round electrodeTargetedSmall joints, compact areas, or closely spaced placements
2" roundSmall to mediumCurved or rounded treatment regions
KF5050 2" squareMediumGeneral-purpose TENS, EMS/NMES, and interferential setups
2" × 3.5" rectangleMedium to largeLarger muscles and broader treatment regions
Large back electrodeBroadLumbar, thoracic, or other large-area placements

The proper electrode size still depends on the treatment location, stimulation parameters, device instructions, and clinician guidance. A larger pad is not automatically better, and a smaller pad can concentrate the stimulation into a smaller skin area.

Compatible stimulation types

TENS

TENS, or transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation, generally uses sensory-level electrical stimulation for temporary pain modulation programs. The KF5050 can serve as a standard replacement pad when the TENS lead wires terminate in compatible 2 mm electrode pins.

Browse our complete selection of TENS units, pads, and lead wires.

EMS and NMES

Electrical muscle stimulation and neuromuscular electrical stimulation use electrical pulses to activate motor nerves and produce a specific muscle response. The 2" square format provides a useful general-purpose footprint for many muscle-stimulation placements.

Explore our neuromuscular stimulation devices.

Interferential stimulation

It has pigtail electrodes for compatible IF or interferential equipment. Confirm that the interferential unit’s lead wires accept the KF5050’s standard 2 mm pin-style connection before ordering.

Connector compatibility

KF5050 electrodes do not connect directly to the stimulator. The pigtail socket on each pad accepts the metal pin at the end of a compatible lead wire.

Compatibility itemWhat to verify
Electrode-side connectorThe lead wire must terminate in a standard 2 mm pin
Device-side connectorThe opposite end must fit the stimulation device
Lead-wire conditionNo exposed wire, loose connection, cracking, or intermittent output
ModalityElectrode use must be permitted by the TENS, EMS/NMES, or IF device
Pad sizeThe device manual or clinician must permit a 50 × 50 mm pad
Proprietary systemsSnap, tab, magnetic, garment, wireless, and brand-specific connectors may not fit

Balego’s 45-inch TENS/NMES replacement lead wires terminate in standard 2 mm electrode pins, but the 2.35 mm device-side plug must also match the stimulator.

KF5050 will generally not fit the following:

  • Snap-style electrode cables
  • Tab-style electrodes or alligator clips
  • Proprietary EMPI safety connectors
  • Wireless wearable TENS devices
  • Garment electrodes without the proper adapter
  • Devices requiring a different pin diameter
  • Systems using electrodes permanently attached to their cables

How to apply KF5050 electrodes

Always follow the instructions supplied with the stimulation device.

1. Turn the stimulator off

The output should be at zero, and the unit should be switched off before connecting, applying, repositioning, or removing the pads.

2. Inspect the electrodes and lead wires

Do not use a pad with damaged gel, torn fabric, exposed conductive material, or a loose pigtail connector. Replace cracked, frayed, or intermittent lead wires.

3. Prepare the skin

Apply the electrodes only to clean, dry, intact skin. Remove lotion, oil, sweat, makeup, or topical creams that could reduce adhesion or interfere with consistent contact.

4. Connect the lead wire

Insert the lead wire’s 2 mm pin fully into the KF5050 pigtail connector. Connecting the wire while the electrode remains on its liner can make handling easier.

5. Remove the pad from its liner

Lift the electrode by its fabric edge. Avoid pulling it by the pigtail wire because such actions can damage the electrode-to-wire junction.

6. Apply it evenly

Place the center of the electrode first and smooth outward toward the edges. The complete gel surface should contact the skin without folded corners or air gaps.

7. Begin at zero intensity

Turn on the stimulator and increase output gradually according to the device instructions and treatment plan. Stimulation should not feel sharp, burning, or concentrated beneath one edge.

8. Turn off before removal

Return the intensity to zero and turn off the device. Peel the electrode slowly from its edge rather than pulling the wire.

9. Return it to the liner

Place each pad gel-side down on its original protective liner and return the set to its resealable package.

These application and removal practices are consistent with the KF5050 distributor instructions and Balego’s general electrode-care guidance.

Electrode care and storage

Reusable electrode life varies according to skin preparation, body oils, humidity, storage conditions, stimulation intensity, and how frequently the pads are handled.

Care practiceWhy it matters
Apply to clean, dry skinOil and lotion reduce adhesion
Handle by the fabric edgeHelps keep fingers off the gel
Avoid pulling the pigtailProtects the wire-to-pad connection
Return pads to the linerShields gel from dust and debris
Reseal the packageSlows moisture loss
Keep away from heat and sunlightHelps protect gel condition
Assign to one userSupports hygiene and consistent skin contact
Replace damaged padsHelps avoid uneven or uncomfortable stimulation

Old, dry, dirty, or poorly attached electrodes can produce weak output, sharp sensations, intermittent stimulation, or edge lift.

When should KF5050 electrodes be replaced?

Replace the pads when:

  • They no longer adhere across the complete surface.
  • Edges lift repeatedly during treatment.
  • The gel is dry, dirty, damaged, or uneven.
  • Stimulation feels sharper than it did with a fresh pad.
  • Output becomes weak or inconsistent.
  • The pigtail connection feels loose.
  • The backing is torn.
  • Skin irritation develops.
  • The pads were used by another person.

Do not apply ordinary electrode gel beneath a self-adhering KF5050 pad unless the manufacturer specifically instructs you to do so. Added gel can interfere with the adhesive layer.

FAQs

What size are KF5050 electrodes?

Each pad measures 50 × 50 mm, which is commonly marketed as approximately 2" × 2".

How many electrodes are in each package?

Each individual package contains four pads. Balego offers four packages with a total of 16 electrodes or 50 packages with a total of 200 electrodes.

Are KF5050 electrodes reusable?

Yes. They are designed for repeat applications while the gel remains clean, intact, and adequately adhesive. Useful life varies with skin preparation, storage, handling, and frequency of use.

What connector do they use?

They use a pigtail-style connection that accepts a standard 2 mm electrode pin. Check both ends of the lead wire: the electrode end must fit KF5050, and the device end must fit the stimulator.

Are these snap electrodes?

No. KF5050 pads use a pin-style pigtail connector, not a metal snap.

Will they fit every TENS machine?

No. They fit many TENS, EMS/NMES, and interferential devices using standard 2 mm electrode pins. They will not directly fit units with proprietary, snap, tab, magnetic, or permanently attached electrode systems.

Can they be used with NMES?

Yes, the NMES or EMS device accepts 2 mm pin-style electrodes and allows for a 50 × 50 mm pad. The electrode line for TENS, EMS, and interferential use.

Can they be used with IFC?

Yes, when the interferential device and its lead wires are compatible. Clinical interferential systems can vary considerably, so please check the connector and device instructions.

For an electrode explicitly positioned for TENS, NMES, EMS, and FES, consider Balego reusable hydrogel electrodes.

Do I need conductive gel?

No additional gel is normally required because the electrode has an integrated conductive adhesive layer.

Can multiple people use the same pad?

Reusable electrodes should be assigned to one person rather than shared. This supports hygiene and helps avoid transferring skin oils or contaminants.

Why does stimulation feel stronger with new electrodes?

Fresh pads typically provide more complete skin contact than dry or worn pads. Improved contact can allow the programmed current to transfer more consistently, making the same device setting feel more distinct.

Why does stimulation feel sharp under one corner?

A lifted edge, dirty gel, uneven pressure, dried electrode, or partial skin contact can concentrate the sensation. Turn off the device, inspect the pad, prepare the skin again, and replace the electrode when necessary.

Can the electrodes be cut?

Do not cut KF5050 pads. Cutting can damage the conductive structure, change the effective surface area, and create uneven current distribution.

Can I use these over lotion?

No. Lotion, oil, and topical products can reduce adhesion and interfere with electrode-to-skin contact.
