Why does Short versus Standard Thoracic matter?
The thoracic names describe different supports with different documented uses. The instructions describe the short thoracic pivot as part of an arrangement with the cervical and lumbar pivots, while the standard thoracic pivot can be used on its own. That is the practical reason to identify which one a package contains.
Ask your clinician to name the intended thoracic component. A package containing both gives you both options, but its piece count does not prescribe how to position them or mean that every piece should be used together.

Should you buy a set or individual components?
We suggest making a component list before choosing the purchase format. Mark which pieces are needed, which you already have, and how many additional units you require.

Is buying the set cheaper than buying the pieces separately?
Use this calculation for each route:
Delivered purchase total = selected items + delivery charges + applicable tax − discounts that apply.
For example, if you already own the Occipivot and cervical pivot and need the other two pieces in our four-piece combination, compare the cost of the short thoracic and lumbar pivots with the cost of another four-piece set. The latter would also give you two duplicates. Decide whether those duplicates have a useful role in your home or clinic.
When comparing a five-piece offer with a four-piece set plus an extra component, include the missing thoracic pivot before comparing totals. Check any quantity discount against the actual selected items; a discount for multiple copies of one product may not apply to an assorted order.

What should you confirm before ordering a set?
Use the written contents list to resolve these questions:
- Which thoracic support is included? Short, standard, or both?
- What does quantity one mean? One individual pivot or one entire named set?
- Does the displayed price match that selection? Confirm the option, quantity, and total together.
- Are substitutions proposed? Check any different component or package against the requested list.
- What are the seller’s return terms for the bundle? Ask whether opening one component affects a set return and whether partial returns are accepted.
Keep a copy of the selected configuration with the order. It gives you a useful reference if the carton, invoice, or product photograph uses a broader family name.
How should you check the order when it arrives?
Identify the components by name as well as by count. Four pieces can still be the wrong four pieces if the thoracic selection differs from your order.
Compare the delivered items with the saved contents list, check their condition, and retain the labels and instructions. In a clinic, record individual spares separately from complete sets so another staff member can see which combinations are available.
