We suggest Duracell Coppertop AA batteries when convenience is the priority. There is no charger to pack or charging schedule to maintain. The linked 16-count package also makes it easy to keep complete replacement sets available instead of gathering loose batteries from different devices.
Choose this option if you prefer replacing a depleted set and continuing with your usual routine. Coppertop alkaline batteries are single-use batteries; do not place them in a charger.

That makes it relevant to the DS5402's stated voltage requirement, but matching voltage and dimensions alone does not establish device-specific approval.
Why 1.2V rechargeable AA batteries are a different comparison
Many familiar nickel-metal hydride rechargeable AA batteries are rated at 1.2V. Four of those cells provide a nominal 4.8V, compared with the DS5402's specified 6V battery supply. The XTAR option discussed here uses regulated 1.5V output instead.
This voltage difference explains why we identify the exact battery type rather than recommend “any rechargeable AA.” It does not prove that every 1.2V battery will fail or that every 1.5V rechargeable battery is compatible. Follow the device instructions and confirm permitted substitutions.
Also avoid substituting higher-voltage lithium cells merely because they look similar to AA batteries. A 3.6V or 3.7V cell does not meet the specified 1.5V-per-cell requirement.
