Chattanooga Vectra Genisys Transport Laser Discontinued: What Customers Need to Know

by Service, Training and Support·August 25, 2026

An Important Update for Our Vectra Genisys Customers

At Balego, we want customers who own—or have been looking to purchase—the Chattanooga® Vectra Genisys® Transport Laser to be aware of an important manufacturer update.

Chattanooga has officially discontinued the Vectra Genisys Transport Laser platform, item 2784, due to obsolete electronic components.

The manufacturer's final purchase date for the 2784 was August 21, 2026. Chattanooga has stated that applicable warranty support for qualifying 2784 purchases will continue through August 21, 2028.

For customers who already own a Genisys Laser, however, this does not mean that every part of the system is immediately unavailable.

Several of the single-diode and cluster laser applicators used with the Genisys platform remain on a later manufacturer lifecycle schedule, with final purchase dates extending through December 2027, subject to availability.

We will keep helping customers find available Genisys components, check if an existing applicator can be used with Vectra Neo, and compare current Class 3B lasers when replacing the discontinued 2784 makes more sense.

What Should I Buy Instead of the Vectra Genisys Transport Laser?

If you are looking specifically for the discontinued Chattanooga 2784, start here:

Our first recommendation for customers who want to remain with Chattanooga is the Vectra Neo Clinical Therapy System.

For clinics looking for a dedicated laser platform rather than a modular Chattanooga system, we also offer the TheraTouch LX2 Laser Light Device with Cluster. The LX2 is currently offered as a professional Class IIIb laser system with a 9-diode cluster applicator and an optional single-diode applicator.

Which Vectra Genisys Products Were Discontinued?

Chattanooga's August 2026 End of Life Notice provides different timelines for the base unit, accessories, and laser applicators.

The dates above are the final-purchase dates set by the manufacturer, and they do not guarantee that inventory will be available through those dates. Chattanooga specifically states that orders remain subject to product availability.

That distinction is particularly important now that the August 21, 2026 deadline for the 2784 base unit has passed.

Looking for a Genisys Laser Applicator? You May Still Have Options

This is the part of the discontinuation announcement that we think existing Genisys owners should pay particularly close attention to.

The laser applicators did not reach their end of life at the same time as the 2784 base unit.

Chattanooga established a December 2027 final purchase date for the listed single-diode and cluster applicators, subject to product availability.

We currently maintain a dedicated selection of Vectra Neo & Genisys Laser 3B applicators, modules, glasses, and laser probes.

Current options in that product family include the following:

  • 850 nm / 100 mW single-diode applicator
  • 850 nm / 200 mW single-diode applicator
  • 820 nm / 300 mW single-diode applicator
  • 9-diode / 540 mW cluster
  • 9-diode / 1040 mW cluster
  • 13-diode / 415 mW cluster
  • 13-diode / 715 mW cluster
  • 33-diode / 1440 mW cluster
  • Laser protective eyewear
  • Vectra laser module options

Our recommendation to existing Genisys owners

Do not discard a functioning Genisys applicator simply because the 2784 base unit has been discontinued.

First record its exact model number.

Chattanooga's Genisys end-of-life notice lists several applicator part numbers that are also compatible with the current Vectra Neo laser platform.

That may allow a clinic to preserve part of its existing investment when transitioning from Genisys to Neo.

Always verify the exact applicator and module compatibility before purchasing or connecting equipment.

What is Chattanooga recommending instead of Genisys?

Chattanooga specifically identifies the Vectra Neo system with the Vectra Neo Laser Module as its continuing Class 3B laser solution for customers affected by the Genisys discontinuation.

That makes Vectra Neo the first product we recommend comparing if your goal is to stay within the Chattanooga platform.

Recommended Chattanooga replacement configuration

A typical laser-oriented Neo configuration starts with the following:

ComponentModelFunction
Vectra Neo base6000Main touchscreen therapy system
Vectra Neo Laser Module70005Adds Class 3B laser capability
Laser applicatorVariesSelected according to required wavelength/output and treatment workflow
Neo Cart70001Optional mobile storage and treatment platform
Laser Remote / Interrupt70008Current Neo remote/laser-interrupt accessory

Our Vectra Neo Clinical Therapy System currently offers the base unit and individual module configurations, including the 70005 Laser Module. You can also expand the current Neo platform with electrotherapy, ultrasound, and sEMG modules.

This feature is one of the biggest differences between the old transport laser and Neo.

Genisys Transport Laser was principally a portable laser platform.

Vectra Neo is a modular rehabilitation platform to which a laser can be added.

That gives clinics replacing Genisys an opportunity to decide whether they still want a dedicated laser system or would benefit from consolidating several modalities into one platform.

Already Own Genisys Applicators? Vectra Neo Deserves a Close Look

For an established Genisys customer, the strongest reason to consider Vectra Neo may not be the touchscreen or additional modalities.

It may be the applicator ecosystem.

For example, these part numbers appear in Chattanooga's Genisys end-of-life notice:

Genisys ApplicatorOutput
27840850 nm / 100 mW
27841850 nm / 200 mW
27805820 nm / 300 mW
278119-diode / 540 mW
278129-diode / 1040 mW
2781413-diode / 415 mW
2781613-diode / 715 mW
2780833-diode / 1440 mW

These same applicator families are currently part of our Vectra Neo laser-accessory ecosystem.

Before purchasing a complete new set of applicators, contact Balego with the part numbers already in your clinic so we can help you determine which components should be investigated for continued use.

Contact Balego for product and compatibility assistance.

What If I Was Looking for the Genisys Remote Interlock Kit 27904K?

The 27904K Genisys Remote Interlock Kit shares the August 21, 2026, final-purchase date of the base platform.

If you are maintaining an existing Genisys system, contact Balego to determine whether remaining compatible inventory is available.

If you are replacing the system rather than repairing it, we would generally recommend putting additional accessory investment toward the current Vectra Neo laser configuration instead.

The Vectra Neo Laser Module 70005 is the current laser module, and the Neo system provides its own associated laser safety and interrupt accessories.

Important: a Neo accessory should not be assumed to be a plug-in replacement for an older Genisys accessory. They belong to different equipment configurations.

What If I Was Looking for the Genisys Carrying Bag 27467?

The 27467 Vectra Genisys Transport Carrying Bag also reached its manufacturer's final-purchase date on August 21, 2026.

There is not a direct like-for-like carrying-bag replacement identified in Chattanooga's end-of-life notice.

For customers replacing the Transport Laser with Neo, the more relevant mobility option is the Vectra Neo Therapy System Cart 70001, which provides a mobile treatment configuration with equipment and accessory storage.

If your requirement is specifically to transport an existing Genisys unit rather than transition platforms, contact us before ordering a generic case so dimensions, protection requirements, and equipment condition can be considered.

What If I Want a Complete Laser System but Don't Need Vectra Neo?

Not every Genisys owner needs a multimodality system.

If your goal is simply to replace the discontinued Genisys with a dedicated professional Class IIIb laser platform, Balego also offers the Richmar TheraTouch LX2 Laser Light Device with Cluster.

The two platforms take different approaches:

The current TheraTouch LX2 system uses two independent outputs and can operate with a 1040 mW cluster applicator or an optional focused single-diode applicator.

When we would point a customer toward Vectra Neo

Consider Neo when:

  • You want to remain with Chattanooga.
  • You already own compatible Vectra laser applicators.
  • You want electrotherapy or ultrasound in the same system.
  • You want a current modular platform that can expand with your clinic.

When we would point a customer toward TheraTouch LX2

Consider LX2 when:

  • Your primary requirement is laser therapy.
  • You do not need Neo's other modality modules.
  • A cluster-based Class IIIb system suits your treatment workflow.
  • You are open to changing from the Chattanooga application ecosystem.

Neither option is automatically better. The more important question is which platform makes the most sense for the equipment your clinic already owns and how you expect to use laser therapy going forward.

Is the Vectra Genisys Discontinuation a Recall?

No recall is announced in Chattanooga's August 2026 End of Life Notice.

The manufacturer states that the Genisys Transport Laser is being discontinued because certain components have become obsolete and describes the change as normal product lifecycle management.

This is therefore an end-of-life announcement, not a notice telling customers to stop using functioning Genisys systems.

Existing owners should continue following the applicable user manual, maintenance requirements, laser-safety procedures, and facility policies.

Will Chattanooga Continue Supporting Existing Genisys Lasers?

Yes, within the limitations described in the manufacturer notice.

Chattanooga says it will:

  • Honor applicable warranty obligations for products purchased before their final purchase date.
  • Provide a 2-year warranty for the 2784.
  • Provide a 1-year warranty for affected accessories.
  • Intend to continue offering repair and technical support after warranty expiration while replacement parts remain available.

That final qualification is important.

Because some of the electronic components themselves have reached end of life, Chattanooga specifically says that long-term replacement-part availability cannot be guaranteed.

If You Already Own Genisys, Should You Replace It Now?

Not necessarily.

At Balego, we would treat the situation as an equipment-planning decision rather than assume that every functioning Genisys system needs to be replaced immediately.

Continuing to use your Genisys may make sense when:

  • The unit is functioning normally.
  • You already have the applicators your clinic needs.
  • Current treatment volume is manageable.
  • Downtime would not create a major operational problem.
  • Your practice is comfortable managing an end-of-life piece of capital equipment.

Beginning a transition now may make more sense when:

  • Laser therapy is heavily used in your facility.
  • A failure would significantly interrupt patient scheduling.
  • You were already planning a capital-equipment replacement.
  • Your clinic needs additional laser applicators.
  • You want a platform with a longer current support horizon.
  • You would also benefit from ultrasound, electrotherapy, or sEMG.
  • You already own applicators that may be carried forward to Vectra Neo.

Suggested Transition Plan for Genisys Owners

Before buying anything, we recommend taking a simple inventory.

Step 1: Record your base-unit information

Write down:

  • Model number
  • Serial number
  • Purchase date
  • Current operating condition

Step 2: Inventory every laser applicator

Record each applicator's:

  • Chattanooga item number
  • Wavelength
  • Output
  • Physical condition

This step is particularly important because several applicators have a longer manufacturer sales window than the Genisys base unit itself.

Step 3: Identify what actually needs replacement

You may need:

  • Only an applicator
  • An accessory
  • Service for an existing Genisys
  • A new laser base system
  • A complete new laser platform

Those are completely unique purchasing situations.

Step 4: Compare current Balego options

For current Chattanooga components:

Shop Vectra Neo & Genisys Laser Modules, applicators, and accessories.

For a new Chattanooga platform:

Shop the Chattanooga Vectra Neo Clinical Therapy System

For a dedicated alternative laser platform:

Compare the Richmar TheraTouch LX2

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Chattanooga Vectra Genisys Transport Laser 2784 discontinued?

Yes, Chattanooga established August 21, 2026, as the final manufacturer purchase date for the Vectra Genisys Transport Laser 2784.

Can Balego still have a discontinued Genisys Laser available?

Potentially, because distributor inventory and manufacturer production are different things.

A manufacturer's final-purchase date means normal factory ordering has ended. Remaining distributor inventory can sometimes continue afterward.

Because availability can change quickly on end-of-life equipment, contact Balego or check the current product listing before planning around a remaining 2784.

What should I buy instead of the Chattanooga 2784?

For customers wanting to remain with Chattanooga, our first comparison would be the Vectra Neo base system with the 70005 Laser Module and an appropriate laser applicator.

Chattanooga itself identifies Vectra Neo with its Laser Module as the continuing Class 3B solution for customers affected by the Genisys discontinuation.

Is there an alternative to Vectra Neo?

Yes. Customers who want a dedicated professional laser system rather than the Vectra Neo modular platform can compare the Richmar TheraTouch LX2 Class IIIb Laser.

View the TheraTouch LX2 at Balego

Can I still buy Genisys laser probes?

Several listed Genisys single-diode and cluster applicators have a final manufacturer purchase date of December 2027, subject to availability.

Check current Vectra Neo & Genisys Laser Applicators at Balego

Can I use my Genisys applicator with Vectra Neo?

The current Neo ecosystem also includes several applicator part numbers associated with Genisys. Do not assume compatibility solely because a connector fits.

Please send Balego your exact applicator part number so they can check the intended configuration before you order a Neo system or module.

How long is my 2784 warranty supported?

The manufacturer notice lists warranty support for item 2784 through August 21, 2028, and identifies a two-year warranty for qualifying 2784 purchases made before the final purchase date.

Will Chattanooga repair the Genisys after the warranty expires?

Chattanooga says it intends to continue repair and technical support as long as replacement parts remain available. Long-term parts availability is not guaranteed.

We're Here to Help With the Genisys Transition

The Vectra Genisys Transport Laser has been a longstanding part of Chattanooga's rehabilitation-equipment family, and an end-of-life announcement can create understandable questions for clinics that have invested in the system.

The important point is that you may have more options than simply replacing everything at once.

If your Genisys is still functioning, we can help you look at remaining applicator options.

If you already own Genisys laser probes, we can help you identify which part numbers to evaluate when considering Vectra Neo.

If you were about to purchase a new 2784, we could help you compare the Vectra Neo + Laser Module against an alternative professional system such as the TheraTouch LX2.

If you are uncertain about which path to take, please send us the model number, applicator numbers, and a description of your clinic's needs for the system.

Contact Balego for help choosing a Vectra Genisys replacement.

Product availability and professional-use notice: Manufacturer lifecycle dates, remaining inventory, service availability and accessory compatibility can change. Balego recommends confirming the exact model, serial number, applicator part number and current availability before ordering. Class 3B/Class IIIb laser systems are professional medical devices and should be operated only in accordance with the applicable manufacturer instructions, training requirements and laser-safety procedures.
