TENS 7000 2nd Edition Dual-Channel Digital TENS Unit (InTENSity™ 7 Branded)
The TENS 7000 2nd Edition is a portable digital transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation device with two output channels that can be adjusted independently, five stimulation modes, customizable pulse settings, and traditional physical intensity knobs.
One channel supports two electrodes, while both channels allow four-pad placement. The combination of a digital display and direct amplitude controls makes the TENS 7000 a practical option for customers who want adjustable TENS programming without navigating a touchscreen or body-part menu.
The current manufacturer documentation identifies the device for over-the-counter temporary relief of pain associated with sore or aching muscles of the lower back, shoulder, arms, and legs caused by strain from exercise and normal activities. It includes Burst, Normal, Modulation, SD1, and SD2 modes; adjustable pulse width and frequency; a compliance meter; a low-battery indicator; and a one-year warranty.
Looking for a Balego-supported alternative? The Balego TENS Digital Edition may be the stronger fit for buyers who want a Balego-branded device, quantity discounts, direct accessory support, and access to American-made Balego replacement electrodes.

Understanding the five TENS modes
| Mode | Output pattern | What the user may notice |
|---|---|---|
| Normal | Steady pulse pattern using the selected settings | Consistent tingling, tapping, or buzzing |
| Burst | Pulses are delivered in rhythmic groups | More pronounced grouped pulsing |
| Modulation | One or more stimulation parameters change automatically | A wave-like or changing sensation |
| SD1 | Strength and duration vary over a narrower range | Moderate changes in sensation |
| SD2 | Strength and duration vary over a wider range | More noticeable changes than SD1 |
The mode changes the pulse pattern, but it does not automatically select the best setting for a diagnosis or body area. The user should follow the current manual, begin with both channels at zero, and increase intensity gradually.
For additional education, please refer to our TENS Unit Guides, Modes, and Electrode Education.
How the two channels work
Each channel connects to one lead wire that divides into two electrode connections.
| Setup | Electrodes | Practical arrangement |
|---|---|---|
| Channel 1 only | 2 | One complete electrode pair |
| Channel 2 only | 2 | A second complete electrode pair |
| Both channels | 4 | Four pads around a larger area or two permitted placements |
| Incomplete channel | 1 or 3 | Not a complete stimulation circuit |
Channel intensity is adjusted independently, which is useful when placement, skin resistance, or pad contact differs between the two electrode pairs.

Replacement electrodes
Customers replacing the original pads should confirm electrode size and connector compatibility.
The Balego TENS/NMES/FES electrode line offers five reusable sizes and is manufactured in the United States using American-made raw materials. The 2-inch-square option is the closest general-purpose replacement format to the common 50 × 50 mm pad supplied with many portable TENS systems.
| Balego electrode size | Practical use |
|---|---|
| 1.25" round | Small or closely spaced permitted placements |
| 2" round | Curved areas and smaller joints |
| 2" square | General-purpose TENS replacement |
| 2" × 3.5" rectangle | Broader treatment areas |
| 2.75" round | Larger rounded treatment areas |
Smaller pads concentrate output over less skin and may feel stronger at the same setting. Customers should follow the device manual and avoid changing electrode size without accounting for the difference in surface area.
Replacement lead wires
Our 45-inch TENS/NMES replacement lead wires have a shielded 2.35 mm device-side plug and two standard 2 mm electrode pins per lead. Each package contains two leads, enough for many dual-channel portable devices. Compatibile with the current TENS 7000 sockets.
Basic setup overview
- Read the complete instruction manual.
- Install the supplied 9-volt battery.
- Turn both intensity controls fully down.
- Connect one or two lead wires.
- Attach two electrodes to each active lead.
- Apply the pads to clean, dry, intact skin according to the manual.
- Select the mode, pulse settings, and timer.
- Increase each active channel gradually.

I am looking for a unit that will provide posterior tibial nerve stimulation for a urinary protocol, and tried the TENS 7000 but at full intensity I could barely get any toe movement. Would this machine be appropriate for my needs and will it provide greater intensity than the TENS 7000?
Hello,
Thank you for explaining your experience with the TENS 7000.
The BioStim NMS2 is primarily an NMES muscle stimulator, while the TENS 7000 is designed for TENS. Their published maximum outputs, measured at a 500-ohm load, are:
- BioStim NMS2: Up to 120 mA peak.
- TENS 7000, model DT7202: Up to 100 mA per channel.
Although the NMS2 has a higher rated maximum, we cannot guarantee that it will produce greater toe movement or be appropriate for your urinary protocol.
If your protocol uses adhesive pads at the ankle, this is generally called transcutaneous tibial nerve stimulation (TTNS). Suitable TENS equipment is commonly used for this application; a muscle stimulator is not necessarily a better choice. Needle-based posterior tibial nerve stimulation is a separate procedure requiring dedicated clinical equipment.
Because you are already reaching maximum intensity with little movement, we recommend having your urologist or pelvic-health physical therapist check your electrode placement, pad contact, lead wires, battery, and prescribed settings before purchasing another unit. Toe movement is one possible sign of nerve recruitment, but the response required depends on your clinician’s protocol. Please do not increase stimulation simply to force a stronger movement.

If you send us the device specifications your clinician requires, we can help compare them with our available units.
Best regards,
