Which Therapeutica pillow size should I buy?

Petite, Average, and Large describe the pillow’s fitting system—not clothing sizes. Measure before ordering, even if you have used another cervical pillow successfully.

How to measure your shoulder

1. Stand upright, face forward, and let your arms rest at your sides.
2. Hold a ruler level from the base of your neck to the outer bony point of your shoulder.
3. Read the distance to that bony point, excluding muscle beyond it.
4. Compare the measurement with the chart and apply the mattress qualification below.

Ask someone to help if keeping the ruler level is difficult. Do not measure across both shoulders or substitute your shirt size.

Between sizes or using a soft mattress? Core Products advises choosing the smaller size when between sizes and one size smaller for a soft sleeping surface such as a memory foam or pillow-top mattress. That is guidance for this particular pillow’s fitting system.

The published ranges share endpoints. If you measure exactly at a boundary, fall outside the listed ranges, or the mattress adjustment would take you below Petite, ask us for fitting guidance before ordering. Do not apply two automatic size reductions because both qualifications seem relevant.

Therapeutica Original Firm vs. Lite

Both options use the Therapeutica support design. The key difference is firmness, not a different sizing method.

Choose Lite because you prefer the less-firm option, not because you expect a soft, loosely filled pillow. If you are unsure whether molded support suits you, compare the constructions below before buying.

What does FOM-130-PET identify?

FOM-130-PET is the manufacturer’s reference for the Petite Original Firm Therapeutica sleeping pillow. It is not the model number for every Therapeutica configuration.

These are the manufacturer’s published white-pillow references. When choosing a different cover color, confirm the complete selected item identification in your order. For a reorder, match size, firmness, and color rather than relying on the product photograph alone.

How one pillow accommodates back and side sleeping

The change in support comes from moving to the appropriate part of the pillow. The center recess is not the intended head position for side sleeping. Follow the supplied positioning instructions, especially when transitioning from a conventional pillow.

What is included, and which replacement cover fits?

Your Therapeutica sleeping pillow includes a fitted zippered cover that can be removed for washing. An extra replacement cover is a separate accessory.

For a replacement, match Therapeutica Sleeping Pillow, the pillow size, and the desired color. The manufacturer’s Therapeutica Premium Pillow Cover fits both Original Firm and Lite in the corresponding size. The Therapeutica Travel Pillow uses a different cover; do not choose it solely because it carries the same brand name.

For example, ACC-800-WH-PET identifies the white Petite premium replacement cover. Contact our team with your pillow size and label information so we can check the appropriate replacement and its availability.

Wash the removable cover according to its own sewn-in care label. Do not wet or soak the foam core. Keep the cover instructions separate from foam care, and check the label again when buying a replacement cover.

Therapeutica vs. Tri-Core vs. Tri-Core Ultimate

These are distinct products, even though they come from the same manufacturer and serve back and side sleepers.

Therapeutica is the relevant option when you want a measured size and a choice of molded-foam firmness. The standard Tri-Core offers a fiber-filled construction. Check the product label against your order, then follow the enclosed unpacking instructions. If the pillow arrives compressed, allow it to recover its intended shape before making a final judgment about fit.

If it feels too high, recheck the selected size, shoulder measurement, mattress softness, and sleeping position. If the height seems appropriate but the resistance feels excessive, check whether you ordered Original Firm or Lite. Do not force yourself to continue through increasing discomfort; seek guidance if discomfort persists.

Frequently asked questions

Is Therapeutica memory foam?

No. It uses resilient molded polyurethane foam rather than the slow-recovery memory foam shoppers may expect. The important distinction is its predetermined support shape—not a claim that every other foam is inferior.

Is Lite the smaller pillow?

No. Lite identifies the less-firm version. Size is a separate choice: Petite, Average, or Large.

Can I use it if I change between back and side sleeping?

Yes. The design provides a center area for back sleeping and raised areas for side sleeping. Correct size and positioning still matter.

Can I buy just a replacement cover?

The manufacturer offers size-specific covers separately. Ask us about the matching cover; an extra cover is not included simply because it appears in a manufacturer’s separate bundle offer.

Is this pillow a cervical traction device?

No. A shaped sleeping pillow does not apply a prescribed, measured traction force. If your clinician has recommended traction, refer to our Saunders cervical traction system rather than treating a pillow as an equivalent device.
