Description
TheraTouch® DX2: The Next Generation of Shortwave Diathermy
The TheraTouch DX2 is an advanced shortwave diathermy system representing a significant innovation in both safety and efficiency for deep tissue heating.
The DX2 Advantage: Scientific Dosage Control (SDC)
The DX2 differentiates itself with its exclusive Scientific Dosage Control (SDC), allowing for increased therapeutic heat with decreased risk.
Traditional diathermy provides a dosimetric scale categorized by four doses, ranging from Dose I (subthermal) to Dose IV (vigorous heat). However, Dose IV's intense heat can be uncomfortable for certain patients, such as geriatric patients with decreased muscle mass or thin skin.
To better meet these patient needs, SDC introduces two additional increments to Dose III:
- DOSE III SDC M (Moderate Heat)
- DOSE III SDC H (High Heat)
Where traditional devices jump dramatically from 24/48 W of energy, the TheraTouch DX2 delivers incremental dosage increases at 30W and 36W, providing tighter, more precise thermal titration.
Core Technology and Design
-
H.E.A.T. (High Efficiency Auto-Tuning): The resonant auto-tuning technology continuously adjusts coupling based on the patient's impedance, size, and body density. This ensures maximum energy transmission without needing to resort to a higher manual dosage, resulting in faster heating and shorter treatment times. Flexible Mechanical Arm: The arm features five articulation points and numerous friction joints, allowing for easy, reliable positioning of the inductive drum over various body areas, preventing unwanted movement during treatment. The DX2 has a special feature for microcirculation that uses gentle pulsed shortwave diathermy to speed up tissue healing. This is particularly helpful in long-term care and skilled nursing facilities.
