X1 & S1 Wireless TENS Gel Pads — 24 Replacement Pads

These reusable replacement gel pads create the conductive and adhesive interface between a wireless TENS and heat device and the user’s skin.

Unlike conventional TENS electrodes, these proprietary pads do not use lead wires, 2 mm pins, pigtail sockets, or snap connectors. One side attaches directly to the gray conductive surface beneath the wearable device, while the other side adheres to clean, dry, intact skin.

Choose the model carefully:

• Select X1 Gel Pads for the iStim X1 Wireless Heat TENS Unit.
• Select S1 Gel Pads for the iStim S1 Wireless TENS Unit with Heat.

X1 and S1 pads are different sizes and should not be represented as interchangeable. The X1 uses larger 89 × 61 mm pads, while the S1 uses smaller 50 × 56 mm pads designed to fit its flexible wings.

Compatibility notice: Confirm the model printed on the TENS device or original package before ordering. These pads fit only the specified iStim X1 or S1 wireless device and do not fit conventional wired TENS machines.

The pads use SEKISUI Japanese gel, have two protective films, should not be used with additional electrode gel, and may be reused up to 30 times under favorable conditions. Actual pad life depends on skin preparation, handling, perspiration, storage, and gel condition.

The X1 device has a broader treatment surface, a wireless remote, 15 TENS intensity levels, and two heat settings. The S1 uses flexible wings, 15 stimulation levels, a fixed 100 Hz program, and optional heat. Their different physical designs account for the varying dimensions of the replacement pads.

The 24-pad package represents 12 complete pad changes when both gel pads are replaced together, as each of the X1 and S1 devices uses two gel pads at a time.

Each pad has two adhesive conductive surfaces protected by separate films.

Remove the film labeled “Device Side,” position that side evenly over the gray conductive area, and avoid bubbles, wrinkles, or folds.

A pad that is folded, contaminated, or partly lifted may:

• Reduce the usable conductive surface
• Cause inconsistent stimulation
• Feel sharper in one area
• Allow the wearable device to shift
• Produce intermittent output
• Shorten pad life
• Increase the likelihood of skin irritation

Do not compensate for poor contact by simply raising the stimulation intensity.

1. Verify the device model

Verify the model name printed on the device, packaging, or manual.

• Order X1 pads only for an X1 device.
• Order S1 pads only for an S1 device.

Do not choose based solely on appearance because both products are wireless TENS-and-heat systems.

2. Turn the device off

The TENS and heat functions should be off before attaching, repositioning, or replacing a pad.

3. Remove the old pads

Peel each used pad slowly from the device’s conductive area.

Do not use sharp objects or scrape the gray conductive surface.

4. Inspect the device

Make sure the conductive underside is clean, dry, and undamaged. Follow the device manual when cleaning it; do not immerse the unit in water.

5. Identify the device side

Each new gel pad has protective film on both sides. Locate the film marked Device Side.

6. Attach the pad to the unit

Remove the device-side film and align the gel pad squarely over the corresponding gray conductive area.

Smooth the pad into place without

• Bubbles
• Folds
• Wrinkles
• Overlapping edges
• Uncovered conductive areas
• Gel extending beyond the intended pad location

7. Prepare the skin

Apply the device only to clean, dry, intact skin.

Remove:

• Lotion
• Body oil
• Perspiration
• Makeup
• Topical pain creams
• Loose debris

Allow the skin to dry before treatment.

8. Remove the skin-side film

Peel off the remaining protective film and apply the complete wearable device according to its instructions.

9. Begin at a low setting

Start at the lowest stimulation intensity and increase gradually to a strong but comfortable sensation.

10. Inspect after treatment

Turn the device off before removing it. Check the skin and both pads for redness, contamination, dryness, edge damage, or loss of adhesion.

Checking the pads for damage and proper adhesion before every session.

Proper handling can help preserve adhesion and conductivity.

1. Turn off the device.
2. Remove it slowly from the skin.
3. Avoid touching the gel surfaces unnecessarily.
4. Place the pads on the supplied parking board or protective storage surface.
5. Keep unused pads inside their resealable package.
6. Store them in a cool, dry location.
7. Keep them away from direct sunlight and excessive heat.
8. Keep each pad set assigned to one person.
9. Replace pads that are dirty, damaged, or no longer adhesive.

Recommend returning the pads to their parking boards after use, storing them in a cool, dry place and replacing them when they lose adhesion or become dirty.

• Add SignaGel, Spectra 360, or another electrode gel
• Add water, lotion or adhesive
• Wash or soak the pads
• Clean the gel with alcohol
• Scrape the hydrogel
• Cut the pads to fit another device
• Fold the gel surfaces together
• Leave the pads exposed between treatments
• Share used pads between people
• Use an X1 pad on an S1 or an S1 pad on an X1

The SEKISUI gel pads may be reused up to 30 times when properly handled. That number should be presented as a manufacturer-listed maximum, not a guaranteed lifespan.

Actual life varies with the following:

• Skin oil
• Perspiration
• Body hair
• Lotion or topical products
• Frequency of treatment
• Treatment duration
• Handling of the gel
• Dust and lint
• Storage conditions
• Heat and humidity
• Repeated edge lifting
• Whether the parking board and resealable package are used

Replace a pad before 30 uses when its condition declines.
