Uni-Patch Model 745 Pin-to-Snap Electrode Adapters | 2 mm, 10/Pack

The Uni-Patch Model 745 Pin-to-Snap Adapter changes the patient end of a compatible electrotherapy lead wire from a standard 0.080-inch (about 2 mm) pin connection to a snap-style electrode connection.

Use this adapter when a compatible TENS, EMS, NMES, FES, or related stimulation device has lead wires with male 2 mm electrode pins, but the selected stimulation electrode or accessory has a compatible snap connector instead.

Each adapter receives one electrode pin and attaches to one snap connection. A standard four-electrode, dual-channel setup therefore requires four adapters. Each package contains 10 individual adapters, providing enough connectors for two complete four-electrode arrangements with two adapters remaining as spares.

The adapter changes only the connector at the electrode end of an existing cable.

Our 45-inch TENS/NMES Replacement lead wires terminate in standard 2 mm male electrode pins. Model 745 may convert that type of patient-end connection to a qualifying snap electrode, provided the lead wire’s device-side plug is also correct for the stimulator.

Confirm all five compatibility points before ordering.

1. Lead-wire pin diameter

The adapter is specified for a 0.080-inch pin, approximately 2 mm in diameter.

Do not assume it fits:

• 1.5 mm pins
• 2.35 mm device plugs
• 3.5 mm device plugs
• 3.9 mm device plugs
• Banana plugs
• Proprietary protected connectors
• EMPI-style safety plugs
• Touch-proof DIN connectors

The 2.35 mm connector on Balego’s replacement lead wire is the device-side plug. Its electrode ends are 2 mm pins. These two measurements describe different ends of the cable and should not be interchanged.

2. Snap dimensions

“Snap” is a connector category rather than a guarantee that every snap has identical dimensions. Compare the snap electrode or accessory with the adapter and current product documentation.

The current Model 745 listings do not publish a separate snap-diameter specification, so the Balego page should not make a universal 3.5 mm or 3.9 mm claim without measuring the current product or confirming it from Cardinal Health.

3. Electrode purpose

Use only an electrode or accessory intended for the selected stimulation device and modality.

A snap may appear on:

• TENS electrodes
• NMES or EMS electrodes
• Carbon rubber stimulation electrodes
• Conductive garments
• ECG/EKG monitoring electrodes
• Diagnostic sensors
• Other medical accessories

A matching connector does not establish clinical compatibility.

4. Device modality

Confirm that the snap electrode is approved or appropriately marketed for the electrical output being used, such as TENS, NMES, EMS, FES, IFC, or another modality.

5. Device-side cable connection

Model 745 does not change the plug entering the stimulator. The original lead wire must already fit the device correctly.

Many ECG/EKG monitoring electrodes also have metal snap connectors, but they are designed to acquire cardiac signals—not deliver therapeutic stimulation.

Model 745 vs. other Balego adapters and lead wires

Model 770 as a pin-to-clip adapter, Model 721B as a banana-to-0.080-inch-pin adapter, and the 45-inch lead wires as complete 2.35 mm-to-2 mm pin cables.

• The existing lead wire ends with a compatible 2 mm male pin.
• The desired stimulation electrode has a compatible snap.
• The lead wire itself is undamaged.
• Only the patient-end connector needs conversion.
• Replacing the complete cable is unnecessary.

• The existing cable has a 2 mm male pin.
• The selected electrode uses a flat tab.
• A clip-style connection is required.
• The clinic uses products such as Uni-Tab Stimulating Electrodes.

Uni-Tab electrodes use flat tabs rather than snaps. Our Uni-Tab page states that conventional pin-ended lead wires generally require a pin-to-clip adapter—not Model 745.

• The starting cable has a banana connection.
• The required patient connection is a 0.080-inch pin.
• The goal is the reverse connection category from Model 745.

• Insulation is cracked.
• A device-side plug is loose.
• The wire produces intermittent output.
• Metal is exposed.
• The cable is kinked or stretched.
• The device-side connector does not fit.
• Multiple adapters would otherwise need to be chained together.

An adapter should not be used to conceal or compensate for a damaged cable.

Customers who do not specifically need a snap electrode may prefer a direct pin-compatible pad such as the following:

Our Uni-Patch Carbon Rubber Electrodes use snap connections on the carbon electrode models. Model 745 may provide the required connector conversion when the adapter’s snap properly fits the electrode and the complete setup is permitted by the stimulation-device instructions.

Carbon rubber electrodes differ from modern pre-gelled pads:

Do not add gel to a self-adhering hydrogel electrode unless its instructions specifically permit it.

Follow the stimulator, lead wire, adapter, and electrode instructions.

1. Turn the stimulator off

Set every channel intensity to zero and turn off the device before connecting or disconnecting an adapter.

2. Inspect the complete setup

Check:

• Device-side lead-wire plug
• Cable insulation
• 2 mm male pin
• Adapter receptacle
• Snap connection
• Electrode or accessory
• Electrode gel or contact surface

Do not use components that are cracked, bent, corroded, contaminated, loose, or visibly damaged.

3. Insert the lead-wire pin

Push the compatible 2 mm pin straight into the adapter’s pin receptacle until it is secure.

Do not:

• Force an oversized pin
• Bend the pin sideways
• Leave exposed metal between the connectors
• Twist the cable excessively
• Insert the device-side plug into the adapter

4. Attach the snap electrode

Align the adapter with the electrode’s snap and press them together until the connection is secure.

5. Apply the electrode

Prepare and position the stimulation electrode according to its instructions and the prescribed placement.

6. Begin at zero intensity

Turn on the stimulator and raise each active channel gradually. Stop if the connection is intermittent or the sensation becomes unexpectedly sharp.

7. Disconnect after treatment

Turn the unit off and return all intensity controls to zero. Hold the connector bodies—not the cables—when separating the adapter from the pin or snap.

No detailed Cardinal Health cleaning procedure for MW72265 was located in the public product information reviewed. The page should therefore avoid recommending alcohol, solvents, soaking, machine disinfection, or sterilization.

Recommended care language:

• Keep the adapter dry.
• Disconnect it from the device before inspection or cleaning.
• Wipe only as permitted by the current package or facility protocol.
• Do not soak or immerse it.
• Do not autoclave unless specifically authorized by the manufacturer.
• Do not use it if conductive metal is exposed.
• Store it away from excessive pulling, bending, moisture, and heat.
• Keep adapters assigned and organized according to facility infection-control policy.
• Replace rather than repair a loose or damaged adapter.
