IMAK Compression Arthritis Elbow Sleeve | Mild Support

The IMAK® Compression Arthritis Elbow Sleeve is a soft, reusable elbow support designed to provide mild compression, warmth, and flexible coverage during everyday activities. Its cotton-rich stretch fabric surrounds the joint without the rigid stays, hinges, or adjustable straps found on heavier orthopedic braces.

A vented inset follows the bend of the elbow to support breathability and movement. At the upper opening, IMAK’s tri-band construction helps the sleeve remain in position and resist rolling during routine wear.

The sleeve is sold individually and can be worn on either arm. Choose Small, Medium, or Large by measuring the circumference around the middle of the bicep. Brownmed identifies the fabric as 92% cotton and 8% spandex.

The product is an all-day mild-compression sleeve, while the Arthritis Foundation’s recognition relates to usability for people with arthritis and other physical limitations. The Ease of Use designation should not be represented as clinical proof that the sleeve treats the underlying joint disease.

Measure around the middle of the bicep, not directly over the elbow joint.

Uses mid-biceps circumference for sizing.

1. Relax the arm at the side with the elbow slightly bent.
2. Locate the middle of the upper arm between the shoulder and elbow.
3. Wrap a flexible measuring tape around the bicep.
4. Keep the tape level and comfortably against the skin.
5. Do not pull the tape tightly enough to compress the arm.
6. Compare the measurement with the size chart.
7. Measure both arms when their circumferences differ.

Do not intentionally size down to obtain stronger compression. This product is designed as a mild-compression sleeve rather than an adjustable or medically prescribed compression garment.

The sleeve should feel close and supportive without producing throbbing, pinching, numbness, or restricted elbow movement.

1. Remove watches, bracelets, or clothing that could bunch up beneath the sleeve.
2. Gather the sleeve rather than pulling it from the upper edge.
3. Insert the hand and pull the sleeve gradually over the forearm.
4. Center the flexible inset over the elbow crease.
5. Position the tri-band section above the elbow on the upper arm.
6. Smooth out folds or twisted fabric.
7. Bend and straighten the elbow several times.
8. Check the hand for normal color, temperature, and sensation.
9. Reposition or remove the sleeve if pressure becomes uncomfortable.

Avoid repeatedly pulling only on the top edge. Evenly working the fabric up the arm can help reduce unnecessary stretching of the anti-roll section.

The IMAK sleeve creates a close fabric layer around the elbow. Its most supportable benefits include warmth, light compression, flexible coverage, and increased awareness of the joint during activity.

The manufacturer does not publish a graduated pressure value in mmHg, so the sleeve should not be marketed as

The stretch inset at the bend of the elbow is designed to flex as the arm moves and to provide more ventilation than a uniform heavy fabric panel. This makes the sleeve more activity-oriented than a rigid immobilizer.

Three narrow bands at the upper opening help distribute contact and keep the sleeve in position. The feature is intended to reduce the rolling or bunching that may occur at the top of a conventional tubular sleeve.

At 92% cotton and 8% spandex, the sleeve prioritizes softness and breathability over the firm pressure associated with many synthetic athletic sleeves.

A soft compression sleeve and a counterforce strap are not interchangeable. Counterforce braces are positioned around the upper forearm to modify loading during selected cases of lateral or medial elbow tendinopathy, while the IMAK sleeve surrounds the elbow joint with uniform mild compression. Clinical guidelines describe orthoses as one possible part of a broader lateral-elbow rehabilitation plan rather than a stand-alone cure.

The IMAK Arthritis Elbow Sleeve may provide warmth and general support around the elbow, but it is not a dedicated counterforce band.

1. Hand wash in cold water.
2. Allow the sleeve to air dry completely.

Do not wring, bleach, iron, or expose the sleeve to high dryer heat. Reshape the sleeve before drying and ensure the tri-band section lies flat. Inspect the fabric and seams periodically, particularly if the sleeve is worn frequently.

Seek professional evaluation for sudden swelling, a red or hot elbow, recent trauma, progressive weakness, persistent numbness, an open wound, or symptoms that interfere with normal arm function.
