The IMAK® Compression Arthritis Knee Sleeve is a soft, cotton-rich knee support designed to provide mild compression, warmth, and flexible coverage during everyday movement. Its pull-on construction surrounds the knee without the rigid hinges, stays, or adjustable straps found on heavier orthopedic braces.

A vented panel behind the knee supports airflow and easier bending, while IMAK’s tri-band retention design helps the upper edge remain in place and resist rolling. The closed-patella construction provides continuous fabric coverage across the front of the knee rather than using an open kneecap cutout.

The sleeve is sold individually, fits either knee, and comes in five sizes. Measure the leg 4 inches above the center of the kneecap before choosing a size.

The package includes the material, five-size range, measuring location, care directions, and tri-band construction.

Measure the circumference of the leg 4 inches above the center of the kneecap.

1. Stand with the leg relaxed and the knee only slightly bent.
2. Locate the center of the kneecap.
3. Measure 4 inches upward toward the thigh.
4. Wrap a flexible measuring tape around the leg at that point.
5. Keep the tape flat and level without pulling it into the skin.
6. Compare the circumference with the size chart.
7. Measure both legs if their dimensions differ.

Do not intentionally order a smaller size to create firmer compression. This product is designed for mild pressure and does not provide an adjustable or clinically measured compression level.

The sleeve should feel close and supportive while allowing comfortable knee bending and straightening. It should not create throbbing, pinching, or altered sensations below the knee.

The leg can change circumference during the day because of activity or swelling. Recheck comfort periodically rather than assuming that a sleeve fitted in the morning will remain appropriate all day.

1. Apply the sleeve to clean, dry, and intact skin.
2. Remove jewelry or clothing that may become trapped beneath it.
3. Gather the sleeve into a shorter ring rather than pulling from the top edge.
4. Insert the foot and guide the sleeve over the calf.
5. Pull it gradually toward the knee using both hands.
6. Center the knee within the main body of the sleeve.
7. Position the black vented panel behind the knee.
8. Place the tri-band section on the lower thigh.
9. Smooth wrinkles without overstretching the upper edge.
10. Walk, sit, and bend the knee to check movement and fit.

Pulling repeatedly on only one section can stretch the fabric or cause the upper retention bands to sit unevenly.

The IMAK sleeve continuously covers the front of the knee. It does not contain a kneecap opening, patellar ring, or tracking buttress.

That construction may appeal to someone who wants the following:

• Flexible movement without rigid hardware

It is not designed to mechanically reposition the kneecap, limit side-to-side movement, or prevent the knee from giving way.

The panel behind the knee is made to flex at the joint crease and provide more ventilation than a solid, heavy support. This can make the sleeve easier to use while sitting, walking, or completing light daily activities.

The panel still needs to be positioned correctly. Twisted or folded fabric behind the knee can create concentrated pressure when the leg is bent.

The upper section uses IMAK’s tri-band design to help the sleeve remain in position and reduce rolling. Unlike an adjustable strap, the amount of tension cannot be changed independently.

It includes a silicone warning for this product. Silicone banding may irritate people with contact dermatitis or a tendency toward certain skin rashes. Do not use the sleeve if you are allergic to any of its materials, and apply it only to intact, undamaged skin.

The sleeve does not increase leg strength or correct altered walking mechanics. Activity progression should still be based on symptoms, strength, balance, and professional guidance.

A mild sleeve should not be substituted for a brace selected to control instability, alignment, or range of motion.

No. Unloader braces use a structured frame and adjustable forces to shift load away from one part of the knee. The IMAK product provides general mild compression without mechanically unloading a particular joint compartment.

AAOS guidance states that brace treatment may improve pain, function, and quality of life for some people with knee osteoarthritis. The evidence includes multiple brace designs, however, and should not be interpreted as proof that every soft sleeve produces the same result. Exercise remains a strongly recommended part of knee-osteoarthritis management.

The sleeve does not have:

• Medial or lateral hinges
• Rigid side supports
• Adjustable stabilization straps
• A patellar tracking buttress
• A range-of-motion stop
• An offloading frame

People whose knees buckle, give way, or feel mechanically unstable should seek an appropriate assessment instead of relying on a mild fabric sleeve.

A compression sleeve addresses a different goal from temperature therapy, exercise equipment, or topical medication.

Consider professional guidance when the goal involves:

• Controlling knee instability
• Protecting an acute ligament injury
• Restricting range of motion
• Postoperative bracing
• Offloading one side of the knee
• Managing significant edema
• Applying a prescribed compression pressure
• Correcting patellar tracking
• Protecting the knee from occupational impact

New knee pain should not automatically be attributed to arthritis.

Stop wearing it if you develop:

• Increasing pain
• Numbness or tingling
• Throbbing
• A cold foot
• Pale, blue or unusually red skin
• New swelling below or above the sleeve
• Skin irritation or a rash
• Difficulty bending or straightening the knee
• Increased unsteadiness while walking
• Deep pressure marks that do not resolve

Seek medical assessment for sudden swelling, a red or hot joint, inability to bear weight, a recent fall, a locked knee, progressive weakness, calf pain, shortness of breath, or symptoms that are new or unexplained.

Do not wring, bleach, iron, or use high dryer heat. Reshape the sleeve before drying and ensure the rear panel and upper bands lie flat. Inspect the seams and retention bands periodically.
