Order Kendall diagnostic ECG tabs by model and quantity.
Buy Kendall Q-Trace 5400 Blue or Kendall 5500 Gold High Tack diagnostic tab electrodes from Balego. Choose your series, then select the electrode quantity needed for your practice. A 100-electrode option lets you replenish a smaller supply without purchasing a full case.
These disposable tabs are for diagnostic ECG/EKG recording with compatible equipment. They connect through an extended tab rather than a snap stud. ECG leads and clips are not included.
Match your reorder code.
| Product selection | Manufacturer catalog number | Identification |
|---|---|---|
| Kendall Q-Trace 5400 Blue | 31433538- | Blue diagnostic tab; routine adhesion option |
| Kendall 5500 Gold High Tack | 30807732- | Gold diagnostic tab with high-tack gel; also identified as Q-Trace 5500 |
Q-Trace 5400 and Kendall 5400 refer to the same model in this listing. If your previous purchase order says Q-Trace, match the manufacturer number as well as the product name. Then confirm the total electrode count: the model number alone does not tell you how much you are ordering.
5400 Blue or 5500 Gold?
| Buying consideration | 5400 Blue | 5500 Gold High Tack |
|---|---|---|
| Adhesive choice | Routine diagnostic adhesion | Higher-tack adhesive gel |
| When to evaluate it | Your established diagnostic workflow uses standard tabs. | Your protocol calls for greater adhesive hold. |
| Connector category | Diagnostic tab | Diagnostic tab |
| Reorder reference. | 31433538- | 30807732- |
Select adhesion according to the patient, procedure, and facility protocol. "Higher tack" describes adhesive hold; it is not a claim of greater diagnostic accuracy. For the broader selection discussion, read our ECG electrode comparison guide.
Choose the total electrode quantity.
The quantity selector lists 100, 1,000, 2,000, and 4,000 electrodes. Select your series first and check the combinations currently available. The selected count is the total number of electrodes in that purchase option—not the number of boxes or cases.
| Order size | Purchasing consideration |
|---|---|
| 100 electrodes | Smaller replenishment order or evaluation quantity |
| 1,000 electrodes | Larger supply for an established workflow |
| 2,000 or 4,000 electrodes | Compare the selected total price with your department’s expected consumption. |
Check the series, count, and cart quantity together before checkout. Choose stock you expect to use within the labeled storage and expiration requirements.
Price per electrode and free shipping
See the purchase panel for the current price, stock status, and quantity offers for your selection. We provide free U.S. shipping with no minimum order, including small electrode orders. Applicable tax is additional.
For a quick comparison, divide the selected price by the total electrode count. For example, a 100-electrode order priced at $8.95 costs $0.0895 per electrode—8.95 cents each—before tax. Use the current selected price when comparing other quantities or discounts.
For purchasing considerations beyond the advertised unit price, see our ECG electrode cost resource. If you have a delivery deadline or destination question, contact us before ordering.
Confirm your ECG lead connection.
Your lead must be designed to grip a diagnostic electrode tab. A grabber or alligator-style appearance alone does not confirm compatibility with every electrode: check the ECG system’s approved accessories and connector instructions.
If your equipment requires snap electrodes, compare the Kendall Medi-Trace 530 Series for its specified monitoring applications. It is a different product family, not an interchangeable tab replacement.
Purchasing FAQs
Can I buy 100 electrodes instead of a full case?
Yes. Choose the 100-electrode option for the available series. Confirm that the cart shows the intended model and total count before submitting the order.
Where do I reorder 31433538- or 30807732-?
Both model selections are on this page. Choose 5400 Blue for 31433538-, or 5500 Gold High Tack for 30807732-, then select your quantity.
Does the order include ECG cables or adapters?
No. This listing supplies the selected quantity of electrodes. Use compatible ECG leads and accessories specified for your equipment.
Are the electrodes reusable or sterile?
Both models are single-use and supplied nonsterile. Follow the instructions on the current package for application, storage, and disposal.
Are these TENS pads or defibrillation pads?
No. These are diagnostic ECG electrodes for recording cardiac electrical signals. They are not substitutes for therapeutic stimulation electrodes or pads used to deliver defibrillation energy.

FAQs
What is the difference between Kendall 5400 and 5500 electrodes?
The 5400 Blue has the most commonly used diagnostic adhesion level from Cardinal Health. The 5500 Gold uses the manufacturer’s highest-tack adhesive gel for maximum adhesion. Their tab format, vinyl backing, hydrogel, and Ag/AgCl sensing technology are otherwise similar.
Are these resting ECG electrodes?
Yes. The 5400 is a market-leading resting diagnostic electrode, and both series are used for diagnostic ECG procedures, hospital-wide applications, and compatible stress laboratory workflows.
Are they monitoring electrodes?
They are diagnostic tab electrodes rather than foam snap electrodes intended for ongoing monitoring. For bedside or telemetry use, compare the Medi-Trace 200 Series or Medi-Trace 450 Series.
What connector do they use?
They connect to compatible grabber, crocodile, or alligator-style ECG lead clips. They do not have the metal snap found on most monitoring electrodes.
Can they be used on children?
Cardinal Health states that both the 5400 and 5500 are safe for adult and pediatric use. Electrode selection and placement should still follow the patient’s size, ECG-equipment instructions, and facility protocol.
What does “high tack” mean?
"High tack" refers to stronger adhesive hold. The Kendall 5500 uses Cardinal Health’s highest-tack gel and may be useful when standard adhesion is insufficient.
Is the 5500 always better than the 5400?
No. Stronger adhesion is not necessary for every patient. The 5400 is designed for most diagnostic applications, while the 5500 is intended when maximum adhesion is beneficial.
Do they contain conductive gel?
Yes. A conductive adhesive hydrogel is integrated into the electrode. Separate ECG gel is normally unnecessary.
Are they reusable?
No. They are disposable diagnostic electrodes intended for one patient and one procedure.
Are they snap electrodes?
No. They are tab electrodes for clip-style ECG leads.
Are they defibrillation pads?
No. The Ag/AgCl sensing system is defibrillation recoverable, but the electrode cannot deliver defibrillation, cardioversion, or pacing energy.
Can they be used for TENS or NMES?
No. These electrodes receive cardiac signals for diagnostic recording. They are not designed to deliver therapeutic electrical stimulation.
For stimulation products, visit Balego’s electrotherapy electrode collection.
Are they made without natural rubber latex?
The 5400 and 5500 are not made with natural rubber latex. They are also not made with DEHP or mercury.
Are they hypoallergenic?
The current page does not describe them as hypoallergenic. Use the documented material statement rather than making a broader allergy claim.
Can they be used in a stress laboratory?
Hospital-wide use and stress labs are among the applications for these electrodes. The 5500 may be preferred when the procedure calls for greater adhesion.
How should an opened pouch be stored?
Keep unused electrodes in their original package, seal the pouch promptly, and follow the storage and open-pouch instructions printed on the current packaging. Discard dry, dirty, expired, or damaged electrodes.
