Bio Protech MAXEMS 2000 Digital EMS/NMES Unit

Digital muscle stimulation with adjustable contraction-and-rest timing.

The Bio Protech MAXEMS 2000, also ordered as MAXEMS2K, is a dedicated electrical muscle stimulator for clinician-directed rehabilitation. Its intended applications include muscle re-education and prevention or retardation of disuse atrophy. It is not the similarly named MAXTENS 2000 pain-management device.

We provide free standard U.S. shipping with no minimum purchase. Applicable tax is additional.

What is included in the standard MAXEMS 2000 kit?

Standard kit contents

ComponentQuantity per standard kit
MAXEMS 2000 digital muscle stimulator1
Starter electrodes4
Lead wires2
9V battery, type 6F221
Carrying case1
Instruction manual1

One kit contains one stimulator system. A five-kit box is a different purchasing quantity. Check the number of complete systems specified in the selected offer rather than comparing headline prices alone.

Check the parameters your prescribed program requires.

Published MAXEMS 2000 capabilities

ParameterMAXEMS 2000 digital specification
Output channels2
Pulse rate1–150 Hz
Pulse width50–250 µs
Contraction / ON time1–30 seconds
Relaxation/OFF time1–45 seconds
Ramp time1–8 seconds
Session timer15, 30, 45, or 60 minutes
Rated output amplitude0–80 mA peak per channel into a 500-ohm test load

The LCD and menu buttons support parameter selection; separate knobs adjust channel intensity. The sliding cover helps protect parameter controls from accidental movement. It is not a childproof lock.

These ranges describe equipment capabilities, not a treatment prescription. The output rating is measured into a test load and is not a recommended intensity. Confirm that the instructions for the supplied revision match the required program before using the device.

Compare the correct type of stimulator.

Stimulator comparison

ProductMain purpose and control distinctionWhat to check before choosing
Bio Protech MAXEMS 2000Dedicated digital EMS/NMES with adjustable contraction, relaxation, and ramp settingsThe prescribed muscle-stimulation parameters and timing
EMS 7500 DE7502A different digital EMS platform with three modes and treatment-use recordsRequired modes, current-revision settings, and whether record use is needed
Bio Protech MAXTENS 2000Dedicated digital TENS for pain-management applicationsWhether the treatment plan calls for TENS rather than muscle stimulation

A similar display or model number does not make these products interchangeable. Our TENS-versus-NMES guide explains the difference between the modalities. Keep device-specific programming with the supplied instructions and the treating professional.

MAXEMS 2000 purchasing FAQs

Where can I buy Bio Protech MAXEMS 2000 or MAXEMS2K?

Order from this product page after matching the full model and selected package to your approved equipment list. For a repeat purchase, compare the previous carton or invoice with MAXEMS 2000 / MAXEMS2K. Check the current offer beside the buying controls.

Do I need a prescription, and how do I submit it?

Yes. Contact our team with the product name and your order number, when available, to request prescription-delivery instructions. Do not paste medical documents into the general contact form. Follow our prescription-submission policy, then confirm receipt of any outstanding requirements and shipping status separately.

Can it operate with two or four electrodes?

Yes. One active channel uses one complete electrode pair; both channels use four pads. Intensity is controlled separately, while the parameter menu is shared. Do not assume that two outputs provide two independently programmable therapies. Follow the clinician-selected connections and placement.

How are contraction time, rest time, ramp, and the session timer different?

Contraction and rest organize the repeating stimulation cycle. Ramp governs the gradual rise and fall of output. The session timer limits the overall treatment period. They are different settings, so a prescribed session length does not tell you the required work/rest pattern.

Does MAXEMS 2000 have TENS, IFC, or Russian stimulation modes?

This is a dedicated EMS muscle stimulator, not a four-modality combination unit. Do not apply MAXTENS mode names or another EMS device's programming instructions to it. Have your clinician approve another device when the prescription calls for a different modality.

Is it rechargeable or supplied with a power adapter?

The documented power source is a replaceable 9V battery. The standard kit does not include a charger or adapter. Follow the supplied instructions for battery selection; do not treat the stimulator as a battery charger.

Is it the same as MAXEMS 1000?

No. MAXEMS 1000 is the analog model; MAXEMS 2000 is digital. The FDA submission distinguishes the analog model's three fixed pulse-rate choices from the digital model's adjustable rate. Match the full model rather than ordering only by the MAXEMS name.

Which replacement electrodes and lead wires should I order?

Use parts recommended for the exact model. Match the device-side connector, electrode connection, and clinician-approved pad size rather than relying on the description "universal." Ask us to check replacement supplies using your device label and the part information in its instructions.

Before starting a home program

Have the treating professional confirm suitability, placement, and settings, and read the complete supplied instructions. Do not use with a cardiac demand pacemaker or apply stimulation through the head, over the neck, or mouth, or across the chest. Stop use and contact your clinician if skin irritation occurs. These reminders do not replace the full warnings.

Ready to order? Confirm MAXEMS2K, the required number of complete kits, and the prescription process. Browse our NMES and EMS muscle stimulators when a different approved format is needed.
