Metatarsal support, arch support, and a heel cradle in one full-length insole.
SoleAid I+ Metatarsal Insoles combine a built-in forefoot pad with a semi-rigid support structure. Choose this format when you want metatarsal support incorporated into your shoe’s footbed, without positioning a separate adhesive pad.
Also called SoleAid I Plus, this model extends from heel to toe. Its integrated design makes the fit of the whole insole important: the heel, arch, and metatarsal support should all align comfortably with your foot.
What makes the SoleAid I+ different?
- Built-in metatarsal pad: Provides a defined forefoot support area within the insole.
- Semi-rigid arch support: Adds structure beneath the arch alongside the metatarsal support.
- Pre-molded heel cradle: Forms a shaped seat for the heel.
- Layered cushioning: Combines EVA foam and neoprene beneath an ETC fabric cover.
- Full-length, USA-made construction: A complete in-shoe support rather than a small forefoot insert.
For someone considering insoles for metatarsalgia or Morton’s neuroma, the goal is a comfortable redistribution of pressure. A built-in pad is useful only when its position suits the foot; extra cushioning alone does not establish the right fit.

Check support alignment before trimming.
SoleAid notes that light trimming may be needed for some shoes. Trimming can adjust the outline; it cannot move the built-in metatarsal pad relative to the heel.
- Start with suitable footwear. Choose closed-toe shoes with adequate width and depth. A removable original liner can create space for the replacement insole.
- Check the complete fit. Seat the heel fully and assess the arch and forefoot support. Avoid an insole that buckles or makes your toes feel cramped.
- Trim only as directed. Follow the supplied instructions. When permitted, use the original liner as a template with the heels aligned, removing only a little excess material at a time. Do not cut into the support shell or metatarsal pad.
- Build up wear gradually. Begin with short periods in everyday footwear before longer shifts or exercise. Stop and reassess pain, numbness, rubbing, or persistent pressure marks.
SoleAid I+ vs. separate metatarsal pads and SoleAid II
| Product | Main distinction | When to consider it |
|---|---|---|
| SoleAid I+ Metatarsal Insoles | Full-length insole with a built-in met pad, arch support, and heel cradle | You want those support areas combined in one fitted insole. |
| Our SoleAid Metatarsal Pads | Separate adhesive forefoot pads | You need a metatarsal pad positioned independently within an existing shoe or insole setup. |
| Our SoleAid II Orthotic Insoles | Full-length arch and heel support without the I+ model’s integrated met pad | You are choosing an arch-support insole and do not require the I+ forefoot feature. |

SoleAid I+ purchasing questions
Can I move or remove the built-in metatarsal pad?
The I+ is an integrated design, not an adjustable pad-placement system. If the forefoot support presses in the wrong location, reassess the size and fit rather than cutting out or shifting the pad.
Should I remove my shoe’s original insole?
Where the original liner is removable, replacing it can help preserve space for your foot. Stacking two full-length insoles may crowd the shoe. If the liner is firmly attached or you already use prescribed orthotics, get fitting advice before changing the setup.
Will SoleAid I+ fit sneakers, casual shoes, and boots?
These are footwear types identified by SoleAid. Compatibility still depends on the interior shape and available space. Check each shoe separately, including heel seating and toe room, before transferring the insoles.
Do these insoles cure Morton’s neuroma or metatarsalgia?
No insole can promise a cure. Metatarsal support and suitable footwear may help reduce pressure for some people, but persistent forefoot pain, burning, or tingling needs clinical assessment.
Do I need to heat-mold them?
The manufacturer describes gradual conformity through wear; its product description does not specify a heat-molding procedure. Follow the supplied directions and do not use an oven, microwave, or hot water to reshape them unless SoleAid explicitly instructs you to do so.
